The USS Kidd is usually the backdrop for Fourth of July festivities in Baton Rouge, but not this year.
The museum announced Monday, June 8 that it will not be hosting or sponsoring any Independence Day festivities. Officials of the downtown Baton Rouge landmark have opted to cancel the event due to COVID-19.
Although there will be no celebration, the museum will open to the public on July 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
