The Krewe of Spanish Town is a staple of Mardi Gras in Baton Rouge. Here's what it's all about.
During Mardi Gras season in Baton Rouge, you will notice pink flamingos everywhere, like in the University Lakes! The tall pink birds are the mascot to one of the city’s most unique parades, the Krewe of Spanish Town. In 2020, see the pink Mardi Gras festivities roll through Downtown on Saturday, Feb. 22.
Here, we sat down with board and krewe member Robert King to discuss the glory of the Spanish Town Parade.
Route (MAP): The Spanish Town Mardi Gras parade begins on Spanish Town Road and finishes on the corner of River Road and North Street.
