Run like a cheetah at the 14th Annual Zoo Run Run

On your marks, get set, pounce! Embrace your inner cheetah as BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo hosts its 14th Annual Zoo Run Run event on Saturday, August 24.

Enjoy the scenery and walk or run through the zoo, as well as portions of Greenwood Park. Lamar Advertising helps bring the event together. All proceeds from the race support the Baton Rouge Zoo and international cheetah conservation efforts. Help save the most endangered wild cat!

Have the whole family stick around after the race for food and refreshments. Also, participants and supporters gain free admission into the Zoo. Just know that supporters must be on site before admission gates open to the public at 9:30 am.

“We encourage everyone of all ages to come out and scamper, trot or gallop through the zoo for a fun-filled family day of adventure for the 14th year. We are thrilled to be able to host this energetic event year after year,” said Phil Frost, Zoo Director.

Here’s what you need to know before joining the run:

  • You can register HERE today. 
  • Day-of registration begins at 6:30 a.m.
  • ½ Mile Kids’ Fun Run begins at 7:45 a.m.
  • 5K begins at 8:15 a.m.
