Sit back and relax on the Tchefuncte River with private boat tours from Louisiana Tours and Adventures.

“’I’ll operate the 24-foot Bentley Pontoon boat. I’m a hundred-ton master captain and I do all sorts of trips on the Tchefuncte River,” said Mike Jones, captain of Louisiana Tours and Adventures.

As a Madisonville local, Captain Mike has been guiding tours for four years, tailoring each charter around his customers perfect day.

Boat tours through the Tchefuncte River

“This river offers a lot, whether you want to get out to the open water, see the marshes, bayous, check out the alligators, we’ve got some nice sandbars to check out, good place to stop for food and drinks,” said Captain Mike.

Each boat tour will set sail at the docks of The Anchor Dining and Bar.

If you register for a two-hour boating excursion Monday through Friday, Captain Mike and The Anchor’s executive chief Michael Gottlieb will provide six guests with lunch or two gallons of daiquiris.

“You can take our food to go with you,” said Chef Michael Gottlieb. “All of it travels well; the po’boys, the salads and definitely the BBQ. And we pack in half gallons and gallons to go for all of our daiquiris and with fresh squeezed juices.”

Captain mike also offers a three-hour tour featuring Lake Pontchartrain or a five-hour mega tour spanning a little over 20 miles.

“We will run all the way from The Anchor to another popular restaurant people will recognize in Baton Rouge, called The Chimes here at the top of the river on the Bogue Falaya,” said Captain Mike.

Between one of the three touring options, the Tchefuncte River will showcase Louisiana’s enchanted landscape.

“You don’t really need to bring anything. I’ve got all the life jackets, safety equipment, just set up to have a great day on the water. You never know what you are going to see,” said Captain Mike.

Captain Mike’s Madisonville charter is nested a little over an hour away from Baton Rouge, making it the perfect day trip for up to six people (pricing below).
