Lafayette-based pizza company, Pizza Artista, is officially open in Baton Rouge.
The fast-paced pizza joint is the only Cajun pizza franchise across the United States. That holds some weight here in south Louisiana, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
We tried some signature slices on the menu, and although they were all phenomenal, the Boucherie reigned supreme. Served on the company’s traditional (and extremely flavorful) crust, the Cajun-inspired Boucherie pizza includes, American cheese, boudin, smoked Cajun sausage, yellow onions, green onions, ghost pepper – mozzarella blend and Steen’s Syrup (a Cajun syrup out of Abbeville, LA).

“The day we tried some Cajun ingredients on top of pizza we were making for ourselves, in just one bite we knew we had something,” said Pizza Artista co-owner, Scott McClaskey.
All these ingredients make for one heck of a pizza, but we know it might not be for everyone.
Other popular pies at Pizza Artista include a traditional Italian pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, Asian-inspired pizza or a veggie pizza full of Mediterranean ingredients. The create your own option is always available, allowing you to choose from over 50 different ingredients including cheeses, vegetables, meats and garnishes. Guest can even customize their crust, choosing from a traditional, whole wheat, gluten-free or cauliflower option.
