‘Pets ‘N’ Paddling’ – Take your dog out on the water and help BR animal rescue

You can take your dog out for a fun paddle on the University Lakes while raising money for a local animal rescue organization.

BREC will host its annual Pets N’ Paddling fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at BREC’s Milford Wampold Memorial Park.

You love your pooch. Help other dogs while having a good time!  

The event will benefit the Friends of the Animals organization and its pet adoption program.

Participants who donate at least $10 to Friends of the Animals can take their dog out in a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard on the University Lakes.

Representatives from the Friends of the Animals will be on hand to provide more information about its pet adoption program.

Don’t worry about them getting dirty!

BREC staff members will provide a “dog wash” station at the park when participants and their pets finish paddling.

Human participants must be at least 12 years of age older.

Milford Wampold Park is located near LSU’s Campus and it’s located on the largest of the University Lakes. The park is located at 901 Stanford Avenue in Baton Rouge.

Trinity Episcopal Church will be available for overflow parking.

Can’t get enough paddling? BREC Outdoor Adventure is offering more kayaking events during the spring and summer.
