The Baton Rouge Epicurean Society knows how to bring people together to celebrate good food and drink. You can pay one ticket price to sample from over 200 wines and over 40 local chefs at the 13th annual Fête Rouge.
On August 23rd from 7 – 10 pm, you can enter the organization’s Food & Wine Fête for $75 per person. The live music will keep you entertained and the food will keep you satisfied. But, a little friendly competition makes things much more interesting. Chefs from around the area cook-off to compete for the Gold Medal, People’s Choice or Best in Show awards. Taste your way through the crowd by sampling all of the prepared food.
After all of the festivities, there is even a drawing for an instant wine cellar. So, if you can’t sip ALL 200 wines that night, you may be lucky enough to bring some home.
This entire event comes from the Baton Rouge Epicurean Society, which is a collection of chefs and restaurant owners in the Capital City. Their cause is to raise funds for childhood nutrition initiatives, educational programs and scholarships, according to their website. Many of the board members come from some of your favorite restaurants, like board president Brian Dykes of Bin 77.
