Local cheese boutique Bites and Boards officially opens in Baton Rouge

Bites and Boards owner Robyn Nicocia Parker has taught over 900 people how to execute the perfect cheese board

An untraditional boutique concept is coming to Baton Rouge, and its main selling point revolves around artisan cheese.

“it’s the first of its kind,” said Bites and Boards owner Robyn Nicosia Parker. “Nobody really knows what a cheese boutique is. It basically came from me building boards and learning that I love building them as much as I do eating them.”

Parker is known around town as the “Cheese Board Lady.” Not only does she cater beautiful homemade cheese boards, but she has educated over 900 people on how to craft the perfect cheese board.

Now, with the official opening of her cheese boutique, Parker can teach you the art of building a personalized cheese board.

“I do want people to know what they are eating,” said Parker. “I want them to know where it was made and how it was made. And the milk source that it comes from.”

“You can see 30 people with the exact same ingredients, and you will see 30 different people with all different boards.”

The concept behind each board starts and ends with Parker’s 7 C’s, a trademarked memento for the next time you build a cheese board.
“I knew when I opened the store, I wanted to rework my classes a little bit,” said Parker. “I came up with the fact that you can build a cheeseboard with every word that starts with the letter C, And I think everyone I will learn something new.”

Beyond the educational classes Parker offers, Bites and Boards is your one-stop-shop for artisan cheeses, meats and more

“My idea is that it’s a cheese shop that you can come in and buy empty boards, charcuterie, cheese, crunch, crackers, jams, jellies, everything that goes on a cheeseboard,” said Parker.

If you’re looking for more of an on-the-go option, Bites and Boards offers that too.

“One of my biggest requests over these last couple of years is ‘do you have a little something that we don’t have to pre-order,’” said Parker. “There is a graze-to-go order you can just pick up, they don’t have to be pre-ordered.”

After months of crafting the perfect cheese boutique off of Perkins Road in Willow Grove, Bites and Boards is officially opening. Celebrate the grand opening on Saturday, June 12th, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. To learn more about Bites and Boards, click here.
