Several local bars, restaurants and other venues join in to help LSU fans cheer on their team in the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Monday, Jan. 13.
For the first time, New Orleans hosts the showdown where the top-ranked LSU Tigers and the Heisman-winning Joe Burrow will face-off against Clemson in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
College Football Playoff organizers are hosting three days of festivities for fans from Saturday to Monday. Fans can experience Playoff Fan Central, the Allstate Championship Tailgate Plaza and AT&T Playoff Playlist Live, among other official College Football Playoff sponsored events.
But, of course, in true New Orleans fashion, local businesses will also cash in on the football frenzy touching down in the city. Several popular game-watching spots have announced parties for folks to catch the game with other LSU fans.
The 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship will take place on Monday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The game will air live on ESPN.

Fulton Street Fan Fest
Harrah’s New Orleans hosts a free Fulton Street Fan Fest to get pumped for the game on both Sunday and Monday. On Sunday, fans can enjoy live music from The Topcats from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. On Monday, DJ Spin performs from noon to 6 p.m. Bars along Fulton Street will sell food and beverages. The event happens at 528 Fulton Street outside Manning’s Sports Bar and Grill.
Harrah’s Casino Canal Street Plaza, located outside Harrah’s Canal Street entrance, will also host performances on Sunday and Monday. Hacienda Brass Band and Aaron Wilkerson Band performs from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Funk Monkey plays on Monday from noon to 6 p.m.
Vintage Rock Club/Walk-On’s VIP Tailgate and Watch Party
Prior to the game, the VIP tailgate takes place from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event features a large-screen projector playing vintage rock music videos, concert footage and more before the game and during game commercials. Catered food by Walk-On’s and an open bar is also part of the experience. Entrance to the tailgate is on Rampart Street behind Walk-Ons. Tickets for the VIP tailgate are $150, and can be purchased here.
Following the tailgate, the National Championship Game Watch Party starts at 6 p.m. The event will showcase Vintage Rock Club’s video music experience – playing both the game and vintage rock music videos, concert footage and more before the game and during commercials on a large-screen projector. Food and beverage from Walk-Ons will be available for purchase. Tickets for the game watch party can be purchased at the door for $20.
The Historic New Orleans Collection CFP Trophy Viewing Party
Fans can see the highly-coveted CFP National Championship Trophy up close during a one-night-only appearance at the Historic New Orleans Collection from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10. The appearance is part of the museum’s current exhibition “Crescent City Sport: Stories of Courage and Change.” Admission to both the event and exhibition is free, and guests will be able to pose with the CFP National Championship Trophy in addition to the other notable prizes on display, including the original Sugar Bowl Trophy and the Vince Lombardi Trophy awarded to the New Orleans Saints following the team’s victory at Super Bowl XLIV.
LSU Alumni National Championship Party
On Sunday, prior to the game, reconnect with old friends and former LSU students at the official LSU National Championship Alumni Party at Patio Gardens on Elysian Fields. Big screen TVs will show NFL Playoff games. Join the fun with food, $2 beers and a full bar with top-shelf liquor and cocktails.
Game Days Bock Party – National Championship Tiger Brawl
Barcadia New Orleans hosts the National Championship Tiger Brawl edition of its Game Days Block Party starting at noon on Monday. Fans can watch the game outside on a 14-foot LED wall on Lafayette Street. The event will feature a performance by special guest DJ Mannie Fresh.
Port Orleans Brewing Company Watch Party
See the “2020 Battle of the Tigers” at Port Orleans’ National Championship Watch Party from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday. A cold beer and possibly an LSU Tigers victory sounds like a win-win.
Abita Brewing Company Watch Party
In Covington, Abita Brewery hosts a National Championship Watch Party on Monday to cheer on the Tigers. Taco Jerks will be on site with food from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Flamingo A-Go-Go Watch Party
Flamingo A-Go-Go invites fans to celebrate game day, all day for its LSU vs. Clemson National Championship Watch Party. Fans can enjoy game day specials like $3 beers and $5 wines. The restaurant opens at 9 a.m. with brunch featuring bottomless mimosas and rosé until 4 p.m. Then, Flamingo A-Go-Go switches over to the regular menu from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Wrong Iron on the Greenway Watch Party
If you’ve ever been to Wrong Iron on a LSU game day, then you know how fiercely fans show out. Wrong Iron opens at 1 p.m. for the biggest LSU game all year on Monday, Jan. 13. The watch party will feature a DJ and three food vendors. In anticipation for large crowds, Wrong Iron says it will set up extra bathrooms and bars to avoid lines.
Miel Brewery and Taproom Watch Party
Cheer on LSU at Miel Brewery and Taproom during their National Championship Watch Party on Monday, Jan. 13. Doors open at the pet and family-friendly venue at 11 a.m., and pre-game festivities start at 5:30 p.m. The event features live music by Big Shot Jazz Trio at 5:30 p.m. until the game starts on the big screens at 7 p.m. A pop-up with Hatch + Harvest will provide food for purchase from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Urban South Brewery Watch Party
Doors open at 5 p.m. for the National Championship Watch Party at Urban South Brewery on Monday, Jan. 13. Winner of the 2019 National Fried Chicken Fest, Southerns, will serve up its Nashville Hot Chicken, and a DJ will play during commercial breaks and halftime to get fans pumped.
Dat Dog Watch Party
All New Orleans Dat Dog locations will host watch parties from 4 p.m. to close on Monday, Jan. 13. Fans can take advantage of drink deals like $3 wells, $5 doubles, $1 off all drafts, and there’s a select menu of $5 dogs.
Deanie’s Seafood Tiger Bash
Deanie’s Seafood’s French Quarter location hosts an all-inclusive Tiger Bash starting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Deanie’s Seafood will transform its restaurant for a game-day feel with all-you-can-eat and drink with premium bar and reserved seating. The game day menu features tasting dishes like charbroiled oysters, barbecue shrimp, fried shrimp and crawfish etouffée. Tickets are $250 per person, plus Eventbrite transaction fees.
Los Jefes Grill Watch Party
In Metairie, fans can celebrate at Los Jefes Grill starting at 7 p.m. On Monday. The spot will offer free tequila touchdown shots and other drink specials like $5 margaritas and $4 Jameson, Crown, Tito’s or Absolute.
Old Absinthe House Balcony Tailgate and Watch Party
For fans who want the Bourbon Street experience, the Old Absinthe House hosts an all out bash for the National Championship game. Tickets grant access to four bars and two balconies, along with TVs and large projector screens to watch the game. There will also be food and a premium open bar at the event from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a cash bar after 6 p.m. Tickets range from $190 to $240.
Choppa and Friends Championship Weekend Party
The Choppa and Friends Championship Weekend Party features performances by Choppa himself, Soul Saint and others at The Battlefield, 2029 Paris Road, in Chalmette. General admission is $10 in advance and $20 at the door. VIP tickets are $25 in advance and $40 at the door, to include catering, drink specials and a meet and greet with artists.
Mid-City Lanes Rock n Bowl Watch Party
Cheer on LSU at Mid-City Lanes Rock n Bowl for the big game. The venue hosts a watch party starting at 1 p.m. on Monday where WWL Radio will broadcast live from the stage. Catch the game on the big screen and surrounding TVs, with additional seating on the dance floor. There will be no cover charge for the event.
Lula Restaurant Distillery Watch Party
Lula Restaurant Distillery hosts the “Ultimate Tailgate & Watch Party” starting at 5 p.m. on Monday. Watch the game on big screens while enjoying an all-you-can-eat buffet and drinks. Tickets are $75 for adults and $15 for kids ages 12 and under.
Dave & Buster’s New Orleans Watch Party
A $30 ticket gets you into the dining room at Dave & Buster’s for the watch party on Monday. Food options include a build-your-own nacho station, jalapeño poppers, chicken bites, boneless buffalo wings, classic bar burgers and unlimited soda.
