Hammond’s Brews Arts Festival celebrates ’10 Years of Beers & Cheers’

The Hammond Regional Arts Center (HRAC) throws its 10th annual Brews Arts Festival. Some of the state’s best craft beer brands, local artists and a handful of Hammond restaurants come together for a cheerful evening in downtown Hammond. They are deeming this year’s celebration as “10 Years of Beers & Cheers.”

It all happens on Friday, Sept. 27 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Find the event at the Morrison Alley Parking Lot off North Cypress in Hammond.

The annual tasting event of Brews Arts Festival is designed to support HRAC’s work in the community. Of course, it also helps promote an appreciation of craft beer. But, let’s face it, it’s not that hard to appreciate the hard work of local artists and the taste of craft brews. So, an evening celebrating it all sounds pretty fine!

In addition to promoting locally crafted beer, the event will also feature live music and art demonstrations. Browse from several booths of artwork and crafts by local and regional artisans.

A ticket to the festival includes access to selected beer samples from local breweries and signature food pairings from local Hammond restaurants. Buy your entry tickets here. Advanced ticket prices are $25 for HRAC members and $30 for non-members. Ticket prices are $35 the day of the event. For obvious reasons, you must be 21 years or older with a valid ID to purchase a ticket.

I’m sure you’re wondering what beers to expect. Well, those craft beer samples come from brands such as:

As for the beer and food pairings, HRAC hasn’t released much yet. But, I’m sure you’ll see more on their Brews Arts Festival Facebook event page and Instagram as the date rolls closer.

Now, in case you need more reason to celebrate craft beer, this year’s event falls right at the end of Louisiana Craft Beer Week. As designated by the House of Representatives and H.R. 251, the week of Sept. 23 – 29, 2019 is meant to commend Louisiana’s craft brewers for their many contributions to the great state of Louisiana.

So, if you don’t have any other plans hoppin‘ next week, Hammond’s Brews Arts Festival is a good way to do it.
