Lafayette outdoor retailer Pack and Paddle is offering anglers a chance to try out Hobie kayaks this summer with kayak fishing trips along the Louisiana coast.

Participants will get the opportunity pilot a hands-free Hobie MirageDrive kayak in the waters near to Point Aux Chenes in Terrebonne Parish.

Anglers will fish for redfish and speckled trout right from their kayaks.

Fish On Hobie Kayaks With Fishing Experts

Members of the Pack and Paddle Fishing Team will be on hand to lend tips and help participants with any fishing or kayak questions.

The expedition will meet up at Point Aux Chenes Kayak Rentals at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 24 and on Sunday, July 8 at the kayak launch.

Then all of the participating anglers will be broken up into groups of three with a guide.

The guides will then instruct participants on the best techniques for catching redfish or speckled trout.

Anglers will be kayak fishing in small groups of three plus a guide. Once everyone is out on the water, everyone will spread out and fish with their groups.

Guides will give fishing and kayak assistance when needed.

What You’ll Get Out Of The Trip

The cost of the fishing trip is $119 and includes the rental of a kayak, a paddle, and life jacket.

Each participant will have the option of choosing a Hobie Outback, Compass, or Pro Angler model kayak for the kayak fishing trip.

Anglers are welcome to bring their own kayak but will still have to pay for the $119 cost of the trip.

Participants can also rent a quality spinning rod and reel combo with the purchase of the kayak fishing trip.

The rod will be set up with the proper line and a tactical clip that allows anglers to easily switch lures out during the day without tying knots.

Williams says as a bonus, all attendees will be able to apply 50% of their trip fee to the purchase of any kayak at Pack and Paddle within 30 days of the trip.
