Whether you launch from Cocodrie, Dularge, or Terriot, right now, fishing south of Houma is as hot as it gets.

From the Falgout Canal Marina, Captain Lloyd Landry and a couple of friends and I made a run to the rigs west of Lake Caillou.

Where are the fish biting?

Our group headed about 5.6 miles south of Pelican Island in the Gulf of Mexico.

We also made a stop at The Pickets, a place where oil rigs once were but now only shell reefs exist along with a lot of speckled trout.

What bait should I use?

Everything was caught on Berkley Gulp and plastic baits. And the signs are those fish are going to be there for a good while.
