Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra prepares to end their 2017 season with lots of Christmas cheer. Here are some of their upcoming events to mark on your calendar this holiday season.

December 1st: Home for the Holidays

Where: Baton Rouge River Center
Time: 7:30 PM

The Holiday Season is celebrated in musical style with the concert featuring local artists such as The Baton Rouge Symphony Chorus, Everett Parker and the Greater Baton Rouge Interfaith Ensemble, Emily DeFoe and the Sherwood Middle Academic Magnet School Advanced Treble Choir, and the Celebration Quartet.

December 8th: Lamar Holiday Brass

Where: St. Joseph’s Cathedral
Time: 7:30 PM

The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra Brass and the Cathedral Organ come together for a night of true Christmas spirit.

December 10th: Holiday Brass-Houmas House Plantation

Where: Houmas House Plantation
Time: 4:30 PM

Houmas House Plantation sets the seen for this family-friendly event. Associate Conductor David Torns and the BRSO Brass, Percussion and Harp will join together to perform some of your holiday favorites.

December 16th & 17th: The Nutcracker-A Tale From the Bayou

Where: Raising Canes River Center

Created by Molly Buchmann and Sharon Mathews in 1992,The Nutcracker – A Tale from the Bayou has become one of the most highly-anticipated events of the holiday season. Featuring world-class guest artists, live accompaniment by the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, and a cast of over 300 community children and local dancers, BRBT’s Tale from the Bayou transports audiences to a magical world of dancing azaleas and snow-covered oak trees that only our Cajun Clara could imagine.
