Happy National Doughnut Day

BATON ROUGE, La. (THE LOUISIANA WEEKEND) - The First Friday in June is National Doughnut Day, a holiday that has been celebrated since 1938.  We’ve been on a search to find the most unique doughnuts in our viewing area. We visited Momo Tea to learn about Mochinuts.  Mochinuts are pon de ring shaped doughnuts made from rice flour.  Like traditional doughnuts, they are deep fried in hot oil.  After frying, toppings are applied.  At Momo Tea, they offer six flavors served each week.  We had a chance to watch them make funnel cake mochinuts, glazed mochinuts, and churro mochinutes.  Mochinuts originated in Hawaii and is a combination of American Doughnuts and Japanese Mochi.  They have a light crispy coating with a soft chewy inside.  Mochinut motto is more than just a doughnut always near you.  You can get individual doughnuts or doughnuts by the dozen.  So go often to taste new doughnut flavors.  This weekend only June 2, 2023 through June 4, 2023, customers you $5 off a dozen mochinutes. This offer is only at the Momo Tea Baton Rouge location. For more information on Momo Tea, visit HERE
