BATON ROUGE, La. (THE LOUISIANA WEEKEND) - Veterans Day is November 11, 2022. Here in Baton Rouge, the 2022 Red Stick Veterans Week allows us to celebrate our Veterans all week with daily free events. Share this list with all the Veterans in your life.
Sunday, November 6th
· 7:30am – 9:00am: Free Prayer Breakfast for Veterans at Bethany Church in Baker, Louisiana.
Monday, November 7th
· 10:00am: Red Stick Veterans Week Kick-off at Galvez Plaza. This free event features Mayor Sharon Weston-Broome & HELIX Community Schools.
Tuesday, November 8th
· 5:00pm: Art & Yoga at the Capital Park Museum. This event is free for Veterans and family members.
Wednesday, November 9th
· 10:00am – 2:00pm: Veterans Benefits and Career Fair. Top level employers will participate in this free hiring event for Veterans and their family members.
Thursday, November 10th
· 5:00pm: “Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em” event at Don Juan’s Cigar Bar. This is a free event that allows Veterans to fellowship with each other.
Friday, November 11th
· 6:00pm: Veterans Gala by Southern University Army ROTC at the Southern University Ballroom. This event celebrates the 75th Diamond Anniversary of the Southern University Army ROTC. Tickets are $50.
Saturday, November 12th
· 8:00am: A full day celebration starts with a “5 Buck 5K”, “Jaguar Battle Run”, and “Commander’s Cup Competition” at A.W. Mumford Stadium. Additional activities include a Black party, musical guests, and prizes. Tickets are $5 Registration for the Jaguar Run begins at 6:00am. You can register in person on site.
