We're celebrating the oyster in Downtown Baton Rouge.
The 2nd annual Baton Rouge Oyster Fest will be happening Saturday May 18th in downtown! It will be from 2-11 PM at Galvez Plaza and is free and open to the public.
Fried, Chargrilled, Rockefeller, Bienville (if you fancy), Raw (if you nasty) - however you like your oysters, let's do that.
Spend a few days in historic downtown Baton Rouge celebrating the mother of mollusks - the oyster. Oysters take center stage this weekend - we'll be shucking, cooking, and eating dozens of the briny, meaty little mothershuckers.
Oyster Shucking Competition
Oyster Shucker’s transcend the lore of Louisiana food culture! Shucking oysters is truly an art. The festival will also celebrate the incredible talents of these Oystermen who share their skills at oyster bars throughout the city with this competition. Whole will take home the winning title?
