Of course, this is just a taste of Baton Rouge’s Taco Tuesday offerings. If I missed your favorite spot for the taco deals, let me know on Facebook.
Thinking back to my college years, I knew I always had Tuesday night's dinner planned. Taco Tuesday deals were hard to pass up, especially on a college-kid budget. But, Taco Tuesday isn't just for college kids. Now, Tuesdays are a day of unwinding with some friends or by yourself and eating as many tacos as you can at the discounted prices. Here are just a few places around the Baton Rouge area that have some awesome dining deals on Tuesday.
The Rum House
The Rum House is famous for their wide variety of taco flavors. Their menu sports 17 different Caribbean inspired tacos ranging in prices from $4.75 to $5.25 each. So on Taco Tuesday with $3 tacos, you can chow down on quality tacos and save a few bucks. Plus, you can wash it all down with $3 beers and $5 margaritas.
Rock Paper Taco
This food truck rolls right up and starts slinging tacos out of the serving window. Because it’s a food truck, they are specialized and serve tacos only. So, you don’t have to be tempted by other items on the menu when you’re trying to decide. Take advantage of their $1 off all tacos on this special day of the week. Also, pair your tacos with a pint because you’ll find this truck at Tin Roof Brewing.
La Carreta Mexican Cuisine
All day $2 tacos, you can’t beat that. And because there are multiple La Carretta locations, some of them even offer additional menu deals, like a $6 taco salad and $0.99 beef tacos. There are two locations in Baton Rouge alone (on Government and Bluebonnet), and many more across southeast Louisiana, so you have the option to find the right spot for you.
Okay, so Bumsteers isn’t a Mexican restaurant, but they still rock the Taco Tuesday deals. Enjoy $2 tacos, $3 Dos Equis and $5 Tres Agaves margaritas on the new rooftop bar. It may be a bit hot outside, but I’m sure a few beers could cool you off.
Never been to Bumsteers before? Here’s a look inside the joint from Restaurant Week.
Everybody loves a discounted dinner. Well, while Las Palmas doesn’t discount tacos on Tuesday, they do discount kid’s meals. Kids can eat for free when mom or dad orders off of the regular menu. Plus, there is usually a guy making balloons in the restaurant on these nights, which is pretty fun. So, Las Palmas may not have Taco Tuesday, but let’s call it Tot’s Tuesday.
You can stop by any of the three Baton Rouge locations or head out to the Praireville or Brusly locations.
Now, I can't guarantee that these deals are still applicable on take-out orders. From my experience, restaurants want you to enjoy the discounted tacos in-house instead of to-go. But, the Taco Tuesday tradition comes in many shapes and forms. Find the right one that fits you the best.
