Watch the Raising Cane’s River Center ice skating rink come to life

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

The words “winter wonderland” don’t make much sense when you’re talking about southeast Louisiana. But, at the Raising Cane’s River Centera winter wonderland becomes reality when the arena transforms into an ice skating rink! 

Create your holiday memories at Ice Skating on the River, which kicks off on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019. On opening day, enjoy a visit from the Coca-Cola Santa Truck and ‘ole Saint Nicholas, who will be spreading the season’s joy. 

“Ice Skating on the River has been a Baton Rouge holiday tradition for many years,” said Les Crooks, Interim General Manager of the Raising Cane’s River Center. “It is a great way for families to have fun and celebrate the joys of the holiday season while creating wonderful winter memories.”

You can see it’s no easy task to transform downtown’s arena into a smooth winter wonderland. It takes a crew of people and dozens of Zamboni swipes. But, after loads of patience and water… VOILA! You have an ice skating rink fit for a great time.

So, even if it’s 60 degrees outside, you can escape to this icy activity. 

Ice Skating on the River is a fun-filled event for all ages. Get the kids out of the house or bring a date. 

Glide around the rink for 90 minute sessions nearly every day from Dec. 20 through Jan. 4. Tickets are on sale now for $12-$14 per person. Special birthday packages are also available. For more information, call 225-389-3030.
