The Arc of East Ascension’s “Dancing for A Cause” is going virtual

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Arc’s 2020  “Dancing for a Cause, Virtual 2020 with a Twist” is inviting everyone to participate through virtual submissions.

The Arc of East Ascension, a non-profit organization supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, hosts the annual “Dancing for a Cause” event to raise money for its programs and services.  

To participate, you are required to make a $25 donation and a 30-45 second video showcasing your best dance moves.

Participants of all ages are welcomed! “Dancing for a Cause, Virtual 2020 with a Twist” encourages using your creative side while keeping it family-friendly. 

Arc’s partnership with the Baton Rouge Parents Magazine will allow for virtual submissions to be posted at brparents.com or you can submit your best dance moves by emailing Sharonmorris@thearcea.org

The deadline to submit your video is Monday, Sept. 21.

The 2020 fundraiser is a 4-week competition running from Oct. 5 – Oct. 31. With a $10 donation, you can cast a vote for your favorite dancer.

All virtual dancers who raise $250 or more will 

  • Be spotlighted in Arc’s 2021 event 
  • Receive two Dancing for a Cause rewind tickets with seating at the DFCA virtual table 
  • Two free drink tickets 
  • Two ballets to vote for your favorite 2021 dance couple 
  • Two wrist bands for the VIP reception 

Winner of the 2020 virtual event will 

  • receive amenities valuing up to $500 (and the option to purchase four more tickets at a special rate)
