If you're looking for indoor entertainment to escape the sun, check out these weekly summer movie discounts for families.
Entertaining kids during the summer time can be tough when they are all home from school. That’s why many local movies theater offer SUPER discounted movie showings during the hot season!
Now, AMC Theaters shows off a Summer Kids Camp where kids can watch family-friendly releases with a KidsPack for just $4 (plus tax). But, that’s for select locations. Turns out, NONE of the AMC theaters in Louisiana offer this…
So, I’ve pulled together a list of local theaters that have similar offers!
1. Celebrity Theaters 15365 George O’Neal Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70817
Starting June 3, families can snag a movie ticket, a drink and a popcorn for only $6. This deal runs Monday through Friday during the summer, but the only showing of each day is at 10:00 am. For showings and ticket info call 225-755-3851.
2. Gonzales Cinema, Malco Theaters– 1406 N. Airline Hwy. Gonzales , LA 70737

While snacks aren’t included in this price, you’ll still be able to shop the discounted concessions at this time. They show a different movie every week starting Jun 4 until the end of July. 4. Irene W. Pennington Planetarium & ExxonMobil Space Theater – 100 River Road South, Downtown Baton Rouge, LA 70802
Yes, I know the Louisiana Art and Science Museum’s planetarium isn’t exactly a movie theater, but it’s still some family-friendly entertainment inside the A/C. Every Saturday, the planetarium has Family Hour & Stargazing at 10:00 am. The family hour is open to all ages. You and your kiddos can learn about stars and constellations in the local nighttime sky. After the sky presentation follows a featured planetarium show.
You can catch planetarium shows like One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure, Magic Tree House Space Mission and Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia. View trailers and show dates here.
The facility even offers discounts for groups visiting now through July 27. Get in there with a couple of families and friends to enjoy the planetarium shows, auditorium films and auditorium interactive programs at discounted rates per person.
