Peeps returning to store shelves in time for Easter after pandemic hiatus

Peeps fans can look for those colorful marshmallow treats to make a return to store shelves just in time for Easter.

After a nine-month hiatus due to the pandemic, candy maker Just Born Quality Confections announced the long-awaited return of the popular Easter candy.

“PEEPS® is back and better than ever! We’re thrilled to be returning this Spring to fulfill special Easter traditions, no matter how you plan on celebrating this year,” Caitlin Servian, Peeps brand manager, said in a press release.

The candy company said it temporarily suspended production to ensure the health and safety of employees. As a result, customers missed out on various holiday-themed Peeps for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day.

Now, Peeps production is back in action. Customers can expect returning fan-favorites and two new flavors inspired by Hot Tamales candy and Froot Loops cereal.

For the first time ever, Peeps will host a new weekly virtual series dedicated to showing fans how to make Insta-worthy creations called “PEEPSONALITY® Live!”

The new series will launch on the official Peeps Instagram account on March 9, the company announced.

Just Born Quality Confections is a third-generation family-owned company that has grown into the 10th largest candy company in the U.S. In addition to Peeps, Just Born also makes other candy brands including Mike and Ike, Hot Tamales, Goldenberg’s and Peanut Chews.
