LSU Athletics moves to a cashless approach in 2020

The overall consensus about fans attending sporting events this fall is still on the table, but that hasn’t stopped LSU Athletics from doing everything they can to stop the spread of COVID-19.

LSU Athletics announced it will be shifting to a cashless approach in the fall of 2020. All athletic facilities across campus will only be accepting credit cards and smartphone payments for concessions and merchandise.

“Reducing contact points when making transactions is a key component of that [fan experience and safety] and will allow our fans to purchase concessions and merchandise with a heightened level of comfort,” said Robert Munson, senior associate athletic director.

Four payment types will be accepted

  • All major credit cards
  • Apple Pay
  • Android Pay
  • Tiger Cash (valid only on concessions)

In the meantime, LSU is working on a prepaid card option for those who do not have access to one of the four payments.
