“The decision to postpone the Louisiana Legends Gala is being made out of concern for the well-being of our guests in light of the still developing threat of the coronavirus,” said Terri Crockett in a press release. Crockett is the Friends of LPB Executive Director. “Our first priority is to ensure that every precaution is taken. We look forward to hosting the gala in the fall and appreciate the understanding of all those scheduled to attend.”
The gala and auction will be held on the rescheduled date at Louisiana’s Old State Capitol. Organizers will honor all prior ticket sales.
The Louisiana Legends Awards Gala and Auction is a annual event hosted by Friends of Louisiana Public Broadcasting. Also, Governor and First Lady Edwards serve as honorary co-chairs. The event honors the best and brightest of Louisiana’s sons and daughters who have distinguished themselves in a variety of disciplines and have brought honor to the state.
Five Louisiana legends will be honored at the October event.
The gala will feature a champagne reception and buffet, a silent auction, music and an awards ceremony.
