Learn how to paddle with BREC’s Kayak Academy

BREC’s Outdoor Adventure staff is hosting a Kayak Academy once a week during the month of August.

The COVID-19 pandemic has inspired many of us to learn new skills and explore new hobbies.

If you have been interested in making kayaking one of your hobbies, the staff of BREC’s Outdoor Adventure has just the thing for you.

They’re offering a Kayak Academy every Wednesday evening at BREC’s Greenwood Community Park during the month of August.

The Kayak Academy is a skills development class designed to get beginner paddlers comfortable and confident on the water.

Organizers say you will learn everything from kayaking strokes and maneuvers to on-water safety and how to transport your kayak from point A to point B. Kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are provided for participants.

Each week the course will build upon the last going more in-depth and providing more time to practice your new skills.

This class is perfect for those who have attended previous kayaking demonstrations or who are comfortable on the water but want to progress their paddling skills to the next level.
