Jazz Fest 2020: New ticket options include four-day weekend pass, increased Saturday pricing

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival rolls out new ticketing options for 2020, including a four-day weekend pass and separate single-day ticket pricing for Saturday entry.

Jazz Fest organizers released details about ticket information, along with the 2020 music lineup. The Who, Foo Fighters, Stevie Nicks and Lizzo are among this year’s headlining acts.

Tickets officially go on sale online at noon on Thursday, Jan. 16 only at nojazzfest.com. Another big change this year, Jazz Fest tickets will not be sold through Ticketmaster as they have in the past.

Single-day general admission tickets can also be purchased in-person at the Smoothie King Center Box Office starting on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

The 2020 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival will once again span eight days this year at the New Orleans Fairgrounds. Opening day is on Thursday, April 23. Both of the event’s weekends will run Thursday through Sunday, from April 23 to April 26 and April 30 to May 3.

Here’s what you need to know about ticket purchases for 2020:

For the first time, Jazz Fest releases a four-day weekend pass valid for April 23 to April 26 or April 30 to May 3.

Limited quantities of these weekend wristbands are available for online purchase only. The early-bird price for the four-day pass is $255 through Jan. 28, or while supplies last. Then, the price rises to $275. Organizers say the weekend pass is non-transferable, and there is no re-entry.

Here’s another big detail: This year, organizers set a separate single-day ticket price for both Saturdays — April 25 and May 2.

Remember last year when there was a separate price for Rolling Stone Day? Well, it’s a similar setup.

Organizers set these day-specific tickets for Saturday at a higher price point than single-day tickets for other festival days. So now, your typical single-day tickets will not be valid for entry on Saturday.

These dates also include some of the larger headlining acts like The Who, Dead & Company and Lizzo. So get ready to pay a little more if these are your must-see acts.

Saturday single-day tickets cost $80 through Feb. 14. Then, the price rises to $90 through April 24. Organizers say they haven’t determined a gate price at this time.

Outside of Saturdays, Jazz Fest advance tickets cost $70 through Jan. 28. Then, the price rises to $75 through April 22.

Jazz Fest daily tickets purchased at the gate cost $85 for adults (expect on April 25 and May 2). Gate tickets for children ages 2 to 10 are still $5 for all festival days.

The “Locals Thursday” tradition will continue on both April 23 and April 30. Louisiana residents who present valid identification at the gate can purchase up to two admissions for $50 each.

VIP packages are also on sale now while very limited supplies last. VIP packages are weekend specific and are valid for all four days of the weekend purchased.

The festival’s popular Big Chief VIP Experience ticket package provides special viewing access at most of the Festival’s stages for $1,600 each weekend.

The Grand Marshal VIP Pass allows for up-close access at the three major stages for $1,500 each weekend.

The Krewe of Jazz Fest VIP Pass entitles patrons to special covered seating at the Acura Stage audience area for $800 each weekend.

PLEASE NOTE: All general admission Jazz Fest tickets are subject to additional service fees and handling charges.
