Gnarly Barley Brewing is ranked 37 of the country’s top 50 fastest growing craft breweries, according to the Brewers Association.

Out of over 7,000 independent breweries in the nation to be judged for this list, Gnarly Barley claims a spot in the top 50 for a second year. In 2017, Hammond’s brewery took home 43 in the same list.

The brewery saw production increase from 3,740 barrels in 2017 to 8,904 barrels in 2018.

Dishing out four flagship brews in cans and on tap year-round, the brewery climbed to the top 50 spot two years in a row without crossing state lines into new markets. To drink fresh off the tap or to store a pack in your fridge, you do not need to go farther than southeastern Louisiana.

The warehouse facility on Corbin Road invites visitors on Friday and Saturday for tastings, free tours, and free live music.

The brewery is kid and dog friendly. Nearly all events are free to the public.

Every Friday night, the taproom welcomes a local band to play on the make-shift pallet stage. They also normally pour a unique one-time brew on Friday nights. Last week’s special tapping was a Blueberry Milkshake IPA. This week’s is a Malted Milk Ball Porter.

About once a month on a Saturday, the brewery celebrates a beer release or party.
