Last fall, the bar left its original location at CitiPlace Court due to issues with the landlord. With its old building falling into disrepair, The Cove decided for a change of scenery.
A new location comes with new branding, though.
The bar first renamed to Smuggler’s Cove. However, after receiving a cease and desist letter from a spot in San Francisco, the bar scrambled to come up with a new name.
Thus, The Lost Cove was born. Some graphic design and social media changes are in process now.
The bar is setting up shop in the old French Quarter Daiquiris at 5625 Essen Lane. Just a few months ago, Facebook followers got an update on the transformation.
Ripped out daiquiri machines are replaced with wood accents and shelves of spirits.
Finally, the long list of cocktails, brews and bar snacks returns Friday May 17 for the official grand opening.
The pub will be open 3 p.m.-2 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 3 p.m.-midnight on Sunday.
