Auditions are open to all males over 21 years of age. Local men who can learn a dance routine and add their own flavor are invited by the 610 Stompers to try out for a spot on the team and a coveted red satin jacket. It’s free to audition.

Registration opens both days at 10 a.m., and auditions will last until 6 p.m. All applicants will learn a new dance routine and “must be able to answer a few questions by the Simon Cowell-esque judges,”  according to a Facebook post.

The first round of auditions will comprise of only 50 dancers each day. Available spots are on a first-come, first-served basis. Early arrival is strongly encouraged. Participants must register and audition on the same day.

Participants selected from the first round will get offered a slot in the final audition on Saturday, August 18 at Harrah’s Casino.

The public is invited to watch the auditions starting at noon for a $10 donation. Family and friends of auditioning hopefuls will also need tickets to watch auditions. VIP booths seating 6 to 10 people will also be available to watch the show for $100.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the door.

If you’re considering whether to audition, we went behind-the-scenes to capture the action during the audition process last year.

The 610 Stompers dance group was founded in 2009. The group performs in dozens of events hosted by non-profits throughout the year. One hundred men hoping to make the cut gave their best shot at the auditions, and the competition was stiff.
