Burgersmith’s Mardi Gras Mambo Burger returns for Mardi Gras season

There might be a lack of Mardi Gras events happening in 2021, but that doesn’t mean you have to halt your Mardi Gras diet.

Along with endless amount of king cake comes the return of Burgersmith’s Mardi Gras Mambo Burger. Introduced in 2020, Burgersmith and Calandro’s collaborated to bring the best of both worlds – burgers and king cakes.

“I think we’re all missing our Mardi Gras traditions this year, so we wanted a safe way for customers to keep the celebration going,” said Russ Umbricht, Burgersmith’s vice president of operations in a release. “That’s why we’re excited to bring back the Mardi Gras Mambo Burger.”

The limited-time burger features Burgersmith’s signature beef patty, melted cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, completed by Calandro’s classic cinnamon king cake. The king cake is completed with icing, sprinkles and a king cake baby on top.

The masterminds behind this loaded Mardi Gras creation are Baton Rouge culinary personality Jay Ducote and his radio show co-host, “Chuck P” Pierce.

“It’s no secret that I love bold flavors, so combining two of our favorites (king cakes and burgers) was a no-brainer, said Ducote in a release. “The Result was even better than we anticipated! It’s part tradition, part nostalgia and a whole lot of deliciousness – after all, isn’t that what Mardi Gras is all about?”

The Mardi Gras Mambo Burger returns to at all six Burgersmith locations, in Lafayette and Baton Rouge, starting Feb. 1. To learn more about Burgersmith, click here.
