America’s Navy band is headed to Baton Rouge!

America’s Navy band is headed to Baton Rouge as one of the 18 stops on their 2019 tour.

Featuring the United States Navy Band Sea Chanters, this family friendly event will include a variety of music from sea chanteys and patriotic fare to opera and Broadway.  This performance will be held at University Baptist Church on March 14 at 7:00pm to inspire and entertain everyone, including veterans, children, and those who are interested in joining the Navy.

“For many years, Navy bands have been where it matters, when it matters, just like the rest of our Navy. Today, we have Sailors performing around the world, improving relations with our allies abroad as well as telling the Navy story here at home.”–Capt. Kenneth Collins, U.S. Navy Band commanding officer.

The Navy Band takes great pride in their responisbility of reaching out to audiences who do not have the opportunity to see them perform on a regular basis. The Navy band has six performing ensembles each of which include full-time professional musicians, and they have been touring around the nation since 1925, including the Nation’s Capital in Washigton D.C.

All performances by the Navy Band are free and open to the public. For more information on America’s Navy Band, visit http://www.navyband.navy.mil/.
