Twenty dollars will make you holler! You can get a three-course meal for $20 at Bumsteers.
Bumsteers is owned by Chris Brooks, who also owns DIG Baton Rouge and organizes Restaurant Week. Obviously, he is a busy man of many trades, but he took the time to tell me what’s on the special discounted menu at Bumsteers.
First up, Brooks showed off the tuna wontons. This is a regular menu item at the restaurant, but I’m pretty happy it’s on the special menu for Restaurant Week. These babies were delicious at every bite! I mean, just look at what’s in the dish: ahi tuna tartare, served over wonton crisps and topped with asian aioli, sweet sticky soy, micro greens, pickled mustard seed and green onions.
Following the appetizer came the entree: the Welcome to Graceland Burger. This is one unique burger, but don’t be afraid of it! This beef patty is topped with house-made crunchy peanut butter, caramelized bananas and bacon. I love a different spin on a hamburger, so I was a fan of this one. However, if this Elvis-inspired entree doesn’t interest you, there is another burger option and 2 taco options for the Restaurant Week entrees.
Finally, the dessert, which is my favorite part of many meals. Now, I didn’t get to try either of these, but the options do sound pretty tasty. Staying consistent with the peanut butter and banana vibes, Bumsteers’s special menu offers a bacon & banana bread pudding with peanut butter creme angalise. The other dessert item is a key lime tart with fresh whipped cream.
You’ll have to see the whole menu HERE.
Bumsteers has a pretty loaded menu this week. Again, get any of the three-courses for only $20 per diner. Business hours are Sunday through Thursday 11 am – 10 pm and Friday through Saturday 11 am – till the party winds down.
