La Tragédie et la Comédie

Don’t be fooled by the mask of comedy. In Timothy Muffitt’s La Tragédie et la Comédie promises a dark comedy that audiences will be sure not to forget.

The Irene W. and C. B. Pennington Foundation Great Performers in Concert Series presents CHICAGO the band

CHICAGO has been hailed as one of the most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era. They will be coming to Baton Rouge once again in a special concert benefiting the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.

The Pendulum Swings: Impressionism-Postmodernism

Considered groundbreaking by academics and highly controversial by traditionalists, Claude Debussy hails from the Impressionist Movement. His work and the others that he inspired in the Impressionism-Postmodernism era will be highlighted in this special performance by the Baton Rouge Symphony.

French pianist Philippe Bianconi has long been a favorite of BRSO audiences and will return once again for a very special BRSO recital debut.

The Promises of Springtime

Former Legendary LSU Baseball Coach, Skip Bertman, will act as narrator in a very special event by BRSO. The jazz performance inspired by springtime and baseball promises to transport audience members to happier times.

Louisiana Youth Orchestra III

Rock On! Music of the 70’s and 80’s

LSU Rural Life Museum
Saturday, May 12, 2018 @ 7:30pm

The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra partners with the LSU Rural Life Museum each year to present an outdoor concert under the stars. This year will be a journey back to the rock and pop hits of the 70’s and 80’s.
This year will feature former American Idol star LaKisha Jones, Rob Evans – Broadway star and member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Rob Evans, and Disney/Hollywood Records solo artist Chloe Lowery.

Ticket options include:

Lawn seating: Available for $25 per adult, $15 for children 12 and under. You may bring your own chairs, blankets, food and coolers.

Table seating: Reserved table seating is $55 per ticket, tables seat 10 people.

* Gates open at 6:00 p.m.
