With the culinary scene growing here in Baton Rouge, we've rounded up the top 10 eateries we're excited to open this year!

White Star Market

The Mid City food hall at Square 46 on Government Street is coming together as we speak and plans to open later this year. Some of White Star’s tenants will be cocktail bar Mouton, Jay Ducote’s Gov’t Taco, Jolie at The Market, Chow Yum Phat and Reve Coffee Roasters.

Cane & Fig Artisan Bakery

Kalurah Street Grill’s pastry chef Kaila Kay and Chef Kelley McCann are branching into sweeter territory this year. The new retail and wholesale bakery is slated to open this spring in the former Jiffy Lube on Perkins Road near College Drive.

Atomic Burger

The New Orleans burger joint is heading to Baton Rouge and plans to open this spring at Ben Hur Road and Burbank Drive near LSU. Expect everything from milkshakes to their signature burgers such as the Jamburger and the Green Chile Burger.

Dat Dog

Another New Orleans favorite is callin’ Baton Rouge and plans to open this fall. Dat Dog will be situated at the new Arlington Marketplace near LSU. The hot dog restaurants specializes in specialty dogs, fries and more.

Le Chien Brewing Company

Baton Rouge-based brewers Le Chien Brewing plans to open a brewpub in Baton rouge this year. Owners promise it will be a new experience for Baton Rouge.

This new Creole restaurant aims to hit downtown Baton Rouge sometime this year. Cecilia will be brought to you by the same team behind the Bengal Tap Room and will also feature an upstairs events space in the adjacent building to the Bengal, formerly Restaurant IPO and upstairs bar The Office.

Cypress Coast Brewing Company

This brewery and taproom has set their sites on a Mid City location opening sometime this fall and will have a large, rotating offering of beers using local ingredients.

La Salle’s Crawfish and Lobster Roll

A favorite Northern dish is heading to Baton Rouge with a twist. La Salle’s Crawfish and Lobster Roll will be opening this spring in the Acadian-Perkins Plaza next to The Salad Shop. They will sell lobster rolls, which consist of a mayonnaise-based lobster salad served on a soft bun, as well as crawfish and shrimp rolls, along with seafood salads, lobster bisque and crawfish bisque.

Rally Cap Brewing Company

This sports-themed brewery plans to open in the Industriplex area later this summer and will feature a 2,000-square-foot taproom, outdoor patio and lots of TVs. When Rally Cap opens, they say to expect exclusive IPAs, pale ales and maybe a porter.

After opening restaurants in Gonzales, Monroe, Lake Charles and Central, Baton Rouge will finally get a Romacelli this summer. The Italian restaurant will have gourmet pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, a large wine selection and more. Romacelli will be located near the corner of Airline Hwy. and Barringer Foreman Rd. and will include a patio area.

A new Asian restaurant is heading to Mid City thanks to Chef Ryan Andre and Chase Lyons. The former City Pork chef’s new concept will be at 5050 Government St., near the intersection of South Foster Drive, in a building that was formerly home to a Rotolo’s Pizzeria. They are slated for an early summer opening. The restaurant will also include a patio bar and a menu spanning all types of Asian cuisine.
